> ⚠️ **Note**
> ⚠️
> ⚠️ - Infoblox recommends that you allocate a minimum of 250 GB of additional disk space for reporting storage requirements. It can be extended up to 2 TB.
> ⚠️ - Infoblox supports only R4, R6i, and M5 type of EC2 shapes and recommends that you choose only those shapes for your reporting vNIOS instances.
> ⚠️ - To enable the reporting functionality on IB-V5005 instances, you must open the required ports in the configured security group. For more information, see the *Defining an AWS Instance Security Group* section in the *[vNIOS for AWS Installation Guide](https://docs.infoblox.com/space/NAIG/22413317/Installation+Guide+for+vNIOS+for+AWS)*.

# Guidelines and Recommendations

- The Amazon EC2 instance types R6i and M5 are supported in NIOS 8.6.3 and later.
- The CPU, memory, and disk space of a virtual appliance is driven by the EC2 shape that you select.
- For information about vNIOS for AWS limitations, see the *Limitations* section in the *[vNIOS for AWS Installation Guide](https://docs.infoblox.com/space/NAIG/22413317/Installation+Guide+for+vNIOS+for+AWS)*.
- vNIOS for AWS is supported on IB-V4015 from NIOS 8.6.2 onwards and on IB-V4025 from NIOS 8.5.2 onwards.
- If a vNIOS instance is running on a NIOS version prior to 9.0.1, the disk size will be set to 250 GB. For NIOS versions 9.0.1 and later, the disk size is 500 GB.
