Before deploying the vNIOS instance in Proxmox VE, complete the following prerequisites:

- Configure the Proxmox virtual environment (VE) host server with network zones, virtual network bridges (VNets), and storage.
  - If you are deploying a standalone instance, configure VNets for the MGMT and LAN1 interfaces.
  - If you are deploying instances with high availability, configure an additional VNet for the HA interface on each of the two instances in the HA pair.
- To enable cloud-init for initializing vNIOS instances, enable snippets in the Proxmox VE server storage to save the user data files. For more information, refer to the Proxmox documentation.
- Obtain the vNIOS Image from the *[Infoblox Support](https://support.infoblox.com)* site as described in the *Downloading the vNIOS Image from the Infoblox Support* Site section.
- Use the compatible versions of software specified in the table below:

## Downloading the vNIOS Image from the Infoblox Support Site

From the Infoblox *Support* site, download the .qcow2 disk image file for Proxmox.

To download the .qcow2 file, complete the following steps:

1. Sign in to the <u>*[Infoblox Support](https://support.infoblox.com/)*</u> site.
2. On the **Download Center** tab > **Download Categories **> select **NIOS/vNIOS**.
3. Under **Select version**, select the version of NIOS.
4. Expand **vNIOS for Public, Private clouds**.
5. Look for the offering and click the image link in the **Binaries** column.
6. Accept the Infoblox End-User License Agreement and click **Download** to download the image file.
