The vNIOS for Azure Stack Hub virtual hard disk (VHD) image available on the *[<span style="color: #000000">Infoblox Support</span>](https://support.infoblox.com/)* site is sized dynamically, to ensure that it is portable on networks. However, Azure runs only fixed-size GEN 1 VHD images. <span style="color: #000000">Therefore, you</span><span style="color: #000000"> must convert the vNIOS image to an Azure compatible format using a conversion tool. </span>The procedure in this topic is based on Hyper-V Manager, but you can use a different conversion tool.

To convert the image:

1. <span style="color: #000000">Log in to the </span>*[<span style="color: #000000">Infoblox Support</span>](https://support.infoblox.com/)*<span style="color: #000000"> site.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">On the </span>**<span style="color: #000000">Downloads</span>**<span style="color: #000000"> tab, complete the following:</span>
  1. **<span style="color: #000000">Infoblox Software</span>**<span style="color: #000000">: Choose </span>**<span style="color: #000000">NIOS/vNIOS</span>**<span style="color: #000000"> from the drop-down list.</span>
  2. **<span style="color: #000000">Select release type</span>**<span style="color: #000000">: Select </span>**<span style="color: #000000">General maintenance products with full engineering support for routine patches and bug fixes on all significant issues</span>**<span style="color: #000000">.</span>
  3. **<span style="color: #000000">Select version</span>**<span style="color: #000000">: Choose the NIOS version from the drop-down list.</span>
  4. **<span style="color: #000000">vNIOS for Azure</span>**<span style="color: #000000"> section: Download the vhd.gz file.</span>
3. Use 7-zip to extract the image.
4. Launch Hyper-V Manager.
5. In the panel on the left, select your local computer.
6. In the **Actions** panel, click **Edit Disk**.
7. In the **Edit Virtual Hard Disk Wizard** dialog, click **Next**.
8. On the *Locate Virtual Hard Disk* page, browse to and select the downloaded virtual disk.
9. On the *Choose Action* page, select **Convert** and click **Next**.
10. On the *Convert Virtual Hard Disk* page, select **VHD** and click **Next**.
11. Select **Fixed size** and click **Next**.
12. Browse to and select a path where the converted VHD file should be saved.
13. In the **Save As** dialog, type a unique name in the **File name** field and click **Save**.
14. Click **Finish** and proceed to *[uploading the vNIOS Image on Azure Stack Hub](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/vniosazure/pages/37552260)*.  
The converted, fixed-size image will be 250 GB in size.
