# What’s New in NIOS 9.1.0

## Support for Network Containers and Networks with Identical CIDRs (NIOSRFE-1361)

From NIOS 9.1.0 onwards, the vDiscovery feature can synchronize data from VNets and subnets with identical CIDRs to NIOS.

# What’s New in NIOS 9.0.8

## Support for Esv5 Virtual Machine Sizes (NIOSRFE-7992)

## Support for Deploying vNIOS for Azure Public Cloud Instances with IPv6 Networks (NIOSRFE-6640)

From NIOS 9.0.8, vNIOS for Azure instances can be deployed on IPv6 networks.

## Renaming Advanced DNS Protection and Threat Protection to DNS Infrastructure Protection

From NIOS 9.0.8 onwards, Advanced DNS Protection and Threat Protection have been renamed to  
DNS Infrastructure Protection.

# What’s New in NIOS 9.0.7

## Filtering Options for vDiscovery (NIOSRFE-2721)

Starting from NIOS 9.0.7, you can configure vDiscovery jobs with CIDR-based filters to limit vDiscovery only in configured networks or to skip vDiscovery from excluded networks. # What’s New in NIOS 9.0.6

## Support for System-Assigned Managed Identity

With the introduction of support for system-assigned managed identity, vNIOS for Azure instances can be configured with multiple Azure managed identities. # What’s New in NIOS 9.0.5

## Support for Esv5 Virtual Machine Sizes (NIOSRFE-2251)

## Support for DNS Infrastructure Protection, Virtual DNS Cache Acceleration, and dnstap (NSP-5)

vNIOS for Azure instances running on NIOS 9.0.5 or later, can be configured with accelerated networking enabled features such as DNS Infrastructure Protection (formerly, virtual Advanced DNS Protection or Threat Protection in versions prior to NIOS 9.0.8), virtual DNS Caching Acceleration, and dnstap. # What’s New in NIOS 9.0.4

## Support for High Availability Configuration (RFE-12151)

Starting from NIOS 9.0.4, you can deploy instances of vNIOS for Azure appliances in high availability (HA) configurations. The HA configuration supports the use of a public IP address on the HA interface. ## Support for Synchronization of Azure DNS (RFE-11046)

Starting from NIOS 9.0.4, synchronize Azure DNS data to NIOS to obtain a unified visualization experience. The Azure DNS synchronization feature of NIOS has the ability to automate the process of discovery and synchronization of DNS data from multiple subscriptions of an Azure tenant. # What’s New in NIOS 8.6.3

## Support for Network Insight (RFE-10248)

Starting from NIOS 8.6.3, deployment of Network Insight appliances on Microsoft Azure public cloud is supported. You can use the discovery feature to detect devices in your network and manage the device data.
