Your TE-906 appliance ships without any pre-installed licenses. You can activate the included temporary licenses at a time of your choosing, and they remain valid for 60 days from the time of activation. You can run the `set license` CLI command to install subscription licenses. When you run the `set license` CLI command, you will be prompted to enter a license string. Contact Infoblox Support to obtain the license string and to go through the configuration process. You can run the `set temp_license` CLI command to install additional software (feature) licenses that last for 60 days. Running the `set temp_license` command displays a list of software licenses that can be installed on TE-906. Depending on the software that you want to use, choose the license. The appliance then displays a list of appliances that can run the software you chose. Depending on your requirement, choose the appliance to install on top of the base TE-906 appliance. The below output depicts the list of licenses displayed and the appliances that support these licenses. The appliances vary depending on the base model that you have purchased. The output below represents the TE-906 series of appliances. `1.DNSone (DNS, DHCP)` `2.DNSone with Grid (DNS, DHCP, Grid)` `3.Network Services for Voice (DHCP, Grid)` `4.Add NIOS License` `5.Add DNS Server license` `6.Add DHCP Server license` `7.Add Grid license` `8.Add Microsoft management license` `9.Add Multi-Grid Management license` `10.Add Query Redirection license` `11.Add Threat Protection (Software add-on) license` `12.Add Threat Protection Update license` `13.Add Response Policy Zones license` `14.Add FireEye license` `15.Add DNS Traffic Control license` `16.Add Cloud Network Automation license` `17.Add Cloud Platform license` `18.Add Security Ecosystem license` `19.Add Threat Insight license` `20.Add Flex Grid Activation license` `21.Add Flex Grid Activation for Managed Services license` `**Temporary License Warning**` `This software is currently operating under a temporary license. Please be aware of the following important points:` `1.The temporary license will expire in 60 days. After this time, the software will stop functioning until a subscription license is installed.` `2.It is not recommended to use the temporary license in the production environment. The temporary license is intended for testing and evaluation purposes only.` `3.It is recommended to enable notifications such as SNMP traps and email settings before installing the temporary license so that you get a notification before the license expires.` `Select license (1-21) or q to quit: 4` `1.ND-805` `2.IB-815` `3.IB-825` `4.ND-906` `5.IB-926` `Enter a number corresponding to a NIOS model (1 - 5) or q to quit:` The TE-906 series of appliances is intended to replace the TE-805 appliances. # Key Features Key features of the TE-906 series of appliances include: - 30% increase in DNS QPS performance compared to TE-815 and TE-825. - 30% increase in DHCP LPS performance compared to TE-815 and TE-825. - The TE-906 series of appliances run on NIOS 9.0.1 and later. # TE-906 Hardware Appliances The Infoblox TE-906 series comprises the following hardware appliance models: - TE-906-HW-AC - TE-906-HW-2AC For more information regarding system specifications of the TE-906 series, see *[System Specifications of TE-906 Series](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage.action?spaceKey=te906&title=System%20Specifications%20of%20TE-906%20Series&linkCreation=true&fromPageId=314540223)** * # Software Models Supported on TE-906 The Infoblox Trinzic 906 series comprises the following software appliance models: - TE-926 - ND-906 In addition to these appliances, the Infoblox Trinzic 906 series also supports the following Trinzic software appliance models:  - TE-815 - TE-825 - ND-805 If you are a NIOS 9.0 customer who has upgraded to NIOS 9.0.1, you can purchase the TE-906 appliance and continue using the features supported by the appliances above without having to buy a new subscription license. NIOS has the ability to compare the existing licenses with the new ones that will be applied, validate them, and then report whether the licenses are valid or not. You can buy a new license after your existing license expires. However, you need a new license key.
