Enabling Juniper Mist discovery provides visibility into your Juniper Mist SD-WAN elements, such as:

- Wireless access points
- Switches
- Edges
- Gateways

> ⚠️ **Note**
> ⚠️
> ⚠️ NetMRI does not save configurations for Juniper Mist devices. NetMRI uses the Juniper Mist API version 1.

To add and configure Juniper Mist discovery, do the following:

1. To enable SDN/SD-WAN polling, go to **Setup** > **SDN/SD-WAN Polling**, select the **Enable SDN/SD-WAN Polling** checkbox, and click **Save**. If you have not done so already, enable SDN/SD-WAN polling. For more information, see [*Configuring SDN and SD-WAN Polling Settings*](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/netmri761/pages/1056869018).
2. Click the **Settings **icon and go to **Setup** > **Discovery** **Settings** > **SDN**.
3. Click **New**.
4. In **SDN Type**, select **Juniper Mist**.
5. Do the following:
  - **Config Name**: Specify a short and unique name for the current configuration of Juniper Mist.
  - **Network Interface**: Choose the interface for accessing the device. The name of the associated collector appears in parentheses, next to the interface's name. Because Juniper Mist’s infrastructure might have IP addresses overlapping in different network views, you must choose an interface accessible from the internet.
  - **Protocol**: This field is populated as **HTTPS** automatically and is not editable.
  - **Address**: Enter the hostname or IP address of the Juniper Mist Dashboard API. By default, it is *api.mist.com*.
  - **API Key**: Specify the access key required to use Juniper Mist APIs. The Juniper Mist administrator must grant an API key that provides at least observer-level access.
  - **Use Global Proxy Settings**: Specify whether you want to use a proxy server to connect to the Juniper Mist device. For more information,
see [*Configuring Proxy Settings for SDN Discovery*](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/netmri761/pages/1056869041).
  - *(Optional) ***Maximum Requests per Second**: To avoid overloading the system, specify the maximum number of HTTP requests that can be sent from NetMRI to Juniper Mist SDN per second.
  - *(Optional) ***Collect Devices in Offline Status**: Specify whether you want to discover Juniper Mist devices that are offline.
  - *(Optional) ***Enable Discovery Blackout**: Select the checkbox and then click its **Scheduling** icon. For more information, see [*Defining Blackout Periods*](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/netmri761/pages/1056868752).
6. Click **Test Connection** to verify that the device is reachable and that the credentials you have provided for it are valid. Results of the connection test are logged to Syslog.
7. Click **Add** or **Add & Discover**:
  - Click **Add** to add the device to the list of SDN devices that can be discovered later.
  - Click **Add & Discover** to open the window that displays the discovery process. Click **Start** and wait for the process to end.
