- In the **General** step of the **Configure Discovery** wizard, configure the following:
  - **State**: Toggle **Enabled** (green) or **Disabled **(blue). By default, Microsoft Active Directory discovery is **Enabled**.
  - **Lease Sync**: Toggle **Enabled** (green) or **Disabled **(blue). By default, Lease Sync is **Disabled**. Enabling this option syncs all the leases from Microsoft DHCP to the Infoblox Portal.
  - **Name**: Specify a name for the network discovery configuration. The name should only contain alphanumeric characters and underscore.
  - **Description**: Specify a description for the network discovery configuration.
  - **Sync Interval**: Choose the sync interval from the drop-down. Choose **Auto** if you want the Infoblox Portal to choose the sync interval automatically. The default sync interval is 15 minutes.
  - **Sync Type**: Choose one of the following options:
    - **Read Only**: The discovery service only reads the information from Microsoft DNS and will not make any changes made through the Infoblox Portal to Microsoft DHCP.
    - **Read/Write**: The discovery service reads the information and can also push changes made through the Infoblox Portal to Microsoft DHCP.
- **Destination Federated Realm**: Choose the destination Federated Realm from the drop-down. For more information, see *[Federated Realm](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/684884590)*.
- **Destination IP Space**: Choose an IP space dedicated to Microsoft DHCP for syncing all DHCP objects.
- Click **Next**.

> ⚠️ The Destination IP Space must be free of address blocks. You can either create a new IP space or use an existing IP space without any address blocks in it.
