The NIOS-X Discovery feature combines network discovery for geographically dispersed networks, infrastructure devices, and network assets with the Universal DDI solution. By enabling discovery, NIOS-X Discovery provides automated, comprehensive, and accurate data about your network devices and their attributes. This allows you to have better visibility into your network infrastructure, including the virtual network infrastructure, and manage it more efficiently.

> ⚠️ It is not recommended to configure NIOS-X Discovery on NIOS-X Server deployed on third party cloud providers.

After a discovery, Universal DDI provides asset dashboards in which you can view trending information about the device groups, types of devices, and IP addresses of the devices discovered by NIOS-X Discovery.

> ⚠️ Before creating network discovery configuration for B1 NIOS-X Discovery, you must create the Discovery Service. For more information, see *[Creating Discovery Services](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneInfrastructure/pages/606437586)*.

Complete the following steps to configure B1 NIOS-X Discovery:

1. Log in to the Infoblox Portal.
2. Go to **Integration > Discovery > On-Prem**.
3. Click **Create** > **NIOS-X Discovery**.
4. In the **Create Discovery Job Configuration - NIOS-X Discovery** dialog, do the following:
