Third-party discovery extends the capabilities of Universal Asset Insights by allowing you to integrate asset and network data from external platforms such as CrowdStrike and ServiceNow. By importing data from these sources, Infoblox enriches its visibility and insight into your broader network ecosystem, supporting more comprehensive monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.

This section outlines the high-level steps to configure network discovery for third-party sources that are not Infoblox products. Appropriate credentials from the third-party platforms are required before configuring discovery.

Follow these steps to configure a network discovery service for third-party sources in the Infoblox Portal:

1. **Create a Discovery Service**: Go to **Network** > **Services & Servers** > **Protocol Service**, and click **Create** to add a new discovery service. For more information, see *[Creating a Discovery Service](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/InfrastructureDRAFT/pages/606240782)*.
2. **Open the Discovery Configuration Page**: Navigate to **Integrations > Discovery**.
3. **Select a Discovery Type**: On the **Discovery** page, select **Third Party** as the discovery type.
4. **Select a Discovery Subtype**: choose a third-party solution, such as **CrowdStrike** or **ServiceNow**.
5. **Configure the Discovery Source**: Complete the configuration steps in the wizard for the selected third-party source.

6. **Sync Discovery Data**: When configuration is complete, discovery data is synchronized from the third-party source to the Infoblox Portal.
