NetMRI and Sandbox images, compatible with both VMware and OpenStack, include drivers and guest-agent daemons customized for these platforms. Although NetMRI and Sandbox images can seamlessly integrate with OpenStack by using cloud-init for deployment, VMware deployment does not support cloud-init at this time. For deployment, we provide OVA images designed for VMWare and QCOW2 images optimized for OpenStack.
For detailed information on cloud-init deployment, refer to the *[cloud-init deployment](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/143295536)** section*.

Complete the following to install a NetMRI/Sandbox virtual appliance:

1. Download and install the virtual appliance image. For more information, see<span style="color: #000000">* *</span><span style="color: #000000">*[Downloading and Installing the Images for the Virtual Appliance](#Downloading-and-Installing-the-Images-for-the-Virtual-Appliance)*</span>.
2. Import the virtual appliance files. For more information, see *[Importing the Virtual Appliance Files](#Importing-the-Virtual-Appliance-Files)*.
3. Configure the NetMRI virtual appliance. For more information, see<span style="color: #3e3f40"> </span><span style="color: #3e3f40">*[Configuring the NetMRI Virtual Appliance](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/143034282)*</span>.

Importing the Virtual Appliance Files

## VMWare

NetMRI and Sandbox images can be imported into the VMWare environment by using an OVF or OVA template that adheres to VMWare's <u>[OVF and OVA template deployment](https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vm_admin.doc/GUID-17BEDA21-43F6-41F4-8FB2-E01D275FE9B4.html)</u> guidelines.

## OpenStack

1. Add the image to the image repository by following the guidelines provided in the official <u>[OpenStack documentation](https://docs.openstack.org/murano/wallaby/reference/appendix/articles/image_builders/upload.html)</u>.
2. Create a flavor by referring to section <u>[Manage Flavors](https://docs.openstack.org/nova/wallaby/admin/flavors.html)</u> in the official documentation for OpenStack. For the best resource allocation that suits your setup, refer to the[ ](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/142902139)*[NetMRI](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/142902139)*[ ](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/142902139)*[Resource Allocation ](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/142902139)*[Guide](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/142902139) or the *[Sandbox Resource Allocation ](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/361365706)*[Guide](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCDeployGuide/pages/361365706).
3. Deploy the instance with the NetMRI/Sandbox image flavor you created.
