<span style="color: #000000">The Infoblox Endpoint icon is displayed in your systray (system tray) by default. You can configure to hide the icon during Endpoint installation or after the installation. At the time of installation of Infoblox Endpoint, if you do not want the systray icon to be displayed, you have the option of changing the default value for the endpoint systray icon from </span><span style="color: #000000">**show**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to </span><span style="color: #000000">**hide**</span><span style="color: #000000"> by modifying the systray_icon.txt file, included in the Infoblox Endpoint installation package. You can also hide the icon after the Endpoint installation. </span><span style="color: #242424">It is not possible to change the visibility of the endpoint icon in the systray from within the </span><span style="color: #000000">Infoblox </span><span style="color: #242424"> Portal.</span>

# <span style="color: #000000">Hiding the Systray Icon at the Time of Infoblox Endpoint Installation</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To hide the Infoblox Endpoint systray icon when installing endpoint, complete the following:   </span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">From the Infoblox Portal, click </span>**Security** > **Threat Defense** > **Endpoints**.
2. <span style="color: #000000">On the </span><span style="color: #000000">*Downloads*</span><span style="color: #000000"> page, select the installer type and click the respective link to download the Endpoint ZIP archive for each platform your business requires.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">After you download the ZIP file, open the ZIP file and locate the </span><span style="color: #000000">*systray_icon.txt*</span><span style="color: #000000"> file.</span>
4. <span style="color: #000000">Open the </span><span style="color: #000000">*systray_icon.txt*</span><span style="color: #000000"> file in your preferred text editor and change the default value of </span><span style="color: #000000">**show**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to </span><span style="color: #000000">**hide**</span><span style="color: #000000">. By changing the value to </span><span style="color: #000000">**hide**</span><span style="color: #000000">, the Infoblox Endpoint icon will not be displayed in the systray. </span>
5. <span style="color: #000000">Save your changes to the </span><span style="color: #000000">*systray_icon.txt*</span><span style="color: #000000"> file.</span>
6. <span style="color: #000000">Close the ZIP file. </span>
7. <span style="color: #000000">Continue with the installation of Endpoint, as described in </span><span style="color: #000000">*[Installing Endpoint](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneThreatDefense/pages/35374340)*</span><span style="color: #000000">. </span>

# <span style="color: #000000">Changing Infoblox Systray Icon State after Endpoint Installation </span>

<span style="color: #000000">To change the systray icon state after Infoblox Endpoint has been installed, complete the following:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">Navigate to your Infoblox Endpoint folder on the system in which Infoblox Endpoint is installed.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">Click on the InfobloxEndpoint folder icon to reveal the contents of the folder.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">For macOS, go to the </span><span style="color: #000000">*/Applications/Infoblox/BloxOne Endpoint.app/Contents/MacOS/ *</span><span style="color: #000000">folder.</span>  
<span style="color: #000000">For Windows, go to the </span><span style="color: #000000">*C:\Program Files (x86)\Infoblox\BloxOne Endpoint\ *</span><span style="color: #000000">folder.</span>
4. <span style="color: #000000">Locate the </span><span style="color: #000000">*infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler*</span><span style="color: #000000"> file in the folder. The </span><span style="color: #000000">*infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler*</span><span style="color: #000000"> file is an executable file that you can run by clicking the file directly. </span>
5. <span style="color: #000000">Double click the</span><span style="color: #000000">* infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggle*</span><span style="color: #000000">r file to change the view state for the endpoint systray icon. For example, if the current view state for the endpoint systray icon is set to </span><span style="color: #000000">**hide**</span><span style="color: #000000">, double-clicking the </span><span style="color: #000000">*infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler*</span><span style="color: #000000"> executable file will change the endpoint view state to </span><span style="color: #000000">**show**</span><span style="color: #000000">. Alternatively, if the endpoint systray icon is set to </span><span style="color: #000000">**show**</span><span style="color: #000000">, then double-clicking the </span><span style="color: #000000">*infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler*</span><span style="color: #000000"> executable file will change the endpoint view state to </span><span style="color: #000000">**hide**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>  
<span style="color: #000000">Note that this process may take 20 to 30 seconds to complete. </span>
