You can enable local access on your NIOS-X physical, virtual, or bare-metal servers through the Device UI without disconnecting them from the Infoblox platform in situations where you need to perform applicable administrative operations, such as restarting the device, performing a factory reset, uploading secrets, and downloading support bundles.

> ⚠️ You can reset a server to factory default only on physical servers. For bare-metal servers, only the support bundle download is supported.

# <span style="color: #000000">Enabling and Disabling Local </span><span style="color: #1d1c1d">HTTPS</span><span style="color: #000000"> Access</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To enable or disable local HTTPS access to the NIOS-X server, complete the following: </span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">Log in to Infoblox Portal.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">Click </span>**Network > Services & Servers > Servers**<span style="color: #000000">.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">On the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Servers**</span><span style="color: #000000"> page, select the sever you want to configure local access.</span>
4. <span style="color: #000000">Click the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Server Actions**</span><span style="color: #000000"> drop-down menu, and then select </span><span style="color: #000000">**Local Access**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to enable or disable local access to the server.</span>
5. <span style="color: #000000">Depending on the current local access state, in the</span><span style="color: #000000">** Enable Local Access**</span><span style="color: #000000"> or </span><span style="color: #000000">**Disable Local Access**</span><span style="color: #000000"> dialog:</span>
  - Click **Enable** to enable local HTTPS access to the server. The access is granted for two hours.
  - Click **Disable** to disable local HTTPS access to the server.

> ⚠️ ### Note
> ⚠️ 
> ⚠️ - Active local HTTPS access will be lost when a NIOS-X server is rebooted.
> ⚠️ - Local SSH access to a NIOS-X server can be enabled from the local HTTPS UI on the server. This SSH access will remain active until it is disabled in the local HTTPS UI of the server or until the server is restarted.
