To deploy a NIOS-X server as an OVF template in VMware ESXi 8.0.3, complete the following procedures:

# Deploying the OVA Image

1. <span style="color: #000000">Log in to VMware vSphere Client and connect to VMware vSphere Client 8.x.</span>
2. On the **ESXi Host Client** screen, click **Create/Register VM**, and then click **Next**.
3. On the **New virtual machine** screen, choose **Deploy a virtual machine from an OVF or OVA File**, and then click **Next**.
4. <span style="color: #000000">Select the OVA image downloaded from the Infoblox Portal. Review and confirm the details of the OVF template, and then click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Next**</span><span style="color: #000000">. </span>
5. In the **Select storage** step, choose the datastore for the virtual machine’s configuration files and virtual disks, and then click **Next**.
6. <span style="color: #000000">In the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Deployment options**</span><span style="color: #000000"> step, configure the network mapping and disk format (thin or thick) for the virtual machine. Select the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Power on automatically**</span><span style="color: #000000"> checkbox, and then click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Next**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
7. <span style="color: #000000">In the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Additional settings**</span><span style="color: #000000"> step, expand the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Cloud Credentials Join Token**</span><span style="color: #000000"> section and enter the join token. Optionally, enter the </span><span style="color: #000000">**HTTPS Proxy**</span><span style="color: #000000">, and then click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Next**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
8. <span style="color: #000000">Verify the configuration in the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Ready to Complete**</span><span style="color: #000000"> step. Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Finish**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to launch the virtual machine. </span>

# Configuring Multiple Network Interfaces

1. <span style="color: #000000">To configure multiple network interfaces for your NIOS-X server, select the VM from </span><span style="color: #000000">**Inventory**</span><span style="color: #000000"> (in power off state), and then right-click the VM and select </span><span style="color: #000000">**Edit Settings**</span><span style="color: #000000">. 2. <span style="color: #000000">In the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Virtual Hardware**</span><span style="color: #000000"> section, click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Add Hardware Adapter**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to add a new NIC.</span>
3. The newly added adapter will appear in the **New Network Adapter**<span style="color: #000000"> field.</span>
4. Expand the **New Network Adapter **section and select** **the appropriate** Adapter Type**.
5. Click **Save** to save the configuration.
6. Once the configuration is saved,** **power on the VM.
7. Open the **VM Console** to confirm that the new network interface has been successfully added<span style="color: #000000">.</span>

# Accessing the NIOS-X Server VM

1. <span style="color: #000000">Launch the NIOS-X server VM and note the IP address displayed on the VM Console.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">Launch the bootstrap UI using the IP address shown in the console and </span><span style="color: #000000">**Login**</span><span style="color: #000000"> = </span><span style="color: #000000">**admin**</span><span style="color: #000000"> and </span><span style="color: #000000">**Password**</span><span style="color: #000000"> = the last 8 characters of the Product serial number. </span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Login**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
4. <span style="color: #000000">Specify other required network configuration, and then click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Apply**</span><span style="color: #000000">, as shown below:</span>
5. <span style="color: #000000">The NIOS-X server is also visible on </span>**Network > Services & Servers > Servers**<span style="color: #000000"> page of the Infoblox Portal. </span>To access further details, simply expand the NIOS-X server section.

> 📝 You can perform the preceding steps directly on the virtual machine without connecting to the virtual machine with the VMware vSphere Client.
