NIOS-X servers (formerly hosts or on-prem hosts) are physical or virtual servers on which you run Infoblox Platform services according to your license entitlements. Depending on your network infrastructure and how you want to implement NIOS-X servers, you can deploy them by using Infoblox-provided hardware and OVA packages or via a bare-metal deployment and other supported open platforms. To ensure a successful server deployment, set up your environment according to the *[Firewall Requirements for Infoblox Cloud Services](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneInfrastructure/pages/873660456)*.

The **Servers** page of the Infoblox Portal displays a list of deployed NIOS-X servers. You can toggle among the following views by clicking the icons on the upper right hand corner of the page.

> 
> The default card view displays the following information for each NIOS-X server: 
> 
> | **Displayed Field** | **Description** |
> | --- | --- |
> | Name | The server name. |
> | Type | The server type. This field can display one of the following: **NIOS-X Server**,** NIOS-X (BloxOne) Container**,** NIOS-X (BloxOne) VM**,** CNIOS**, **NIOS**, **NIOS HA**, and **Not Availabl**e. For example, if your server is a physical appliance, the server type is **NIOS-X (BloxOne) Physical Server**, bare-metal container is **NIOS-X (BloxOne) Container**, and OVA VM is **NIOS-X (BloxOne) Virtual Server**. |
> | Size | The size of the server. |
> | Version | The version of the agent that is currently running on the server. |
> | Serial Number | The serial number of the server (physical or virtual). |
> | Server Status | The server status, as follows:<br>- **Online**: The server is online, and both the platform and application management are running properly.
> - **Pending**: This status applies to NIOS-X physical appliances only. Pending means the server has not been physically connected yet.
> - **Awaiting Approval**: This applies to NIOS-X physical appliances only. When the server is in this state, it is awaiting approval or denial to establish a connection to Infoblox Platform. You can approve or deny the server connection based on your business requirements. The server status changes to **Online** when you approve the connection and to **Denied** when you deny the connection.
> - **Degraded**: Either the platform or application management is in error when either one is not functioning properly.
> - **Error**: Any of the platform or application-management applications are not functioning properly.<br>You can expand the panel and view detailed information about the errors. > - **Maintenance**: Choose this to place the server into maintenance mode.
> - **Refresh Statu**s: Choose this to refresh the server status.
> - **Remove**: Choose this to remove the server.
> - **Replace**: Choose this to replace this server with another server.
> - **Re Snapshot**: Choose this to create a new snapshot of the server configuration.
> - **Troubleshoot**: Click this and choose one of the following to troubleshoot your server: **Traceroute**, **DNS Test**, **Traffic Capture**, **NTP Test**, or **Restart server**. |

> ## Table View
> 
> When you select the **Table View** option (middle toggle button), the page displays servers in a sortable, filterable table along with a detailed information panel for the selected server.
> 
> The table view consists of two main sections:
> 
> ### Server Table (Left Section)
> 
> This section displays a list of all configured servers. By default, the following columns are shown:
> 
> - **Server Name:** The name of the server.
> - **Status:** The current status of the server, defined as follows:
>   - **Online**: The server is online, and both the platform and application management are running properly.
>   - **Pending**: This status applies to NIOS-X physical servers only. Pending means the server has not been physically connected yet.
>   - **Awaiting Approval**: This applies to NIOS-X physical servers only. When the server is in this state, it is awaiting approval or denial to establish a connection to Infoblox Platform. You can approve or deny the server connection based on your business requirements. The server status changes to **Online** when you approve the connection and to **Denied** when you deny the connection.
>   - **Degraded**: Either the platform or application management is in error when either one is not functioning properly.
>   - **Error**: Any of the platform or application-management applications are not functioning properly.
> 
> You can customize the table to display additional columns as needed. To add or remove columns, click the **hamburger** (three horizontal line) icon in the table header and enable or disable the desired fields. The table updates immediately to reflect your selections.
> 
> ### Row Actions Menu
> 
> Each server row includes a hamburger (three horizontal line) icon next to the server selection checkbox. When you click this icon, a list of server-specific actions appears. Depending on the server type and configuration, the following options may be available:
> 
> - **Approve**: Choose this to approve the server connection to Infoblox Platform.
> - **Apply config updates immediately**: Choose this to apply the server’s configuration updates immediately.
> - **Apply software updates now:  **Choose this to apply the server’s software updates immediately.
> - **Create Template**: Choose this to take a snapshot of the server’s configuration and apply the template to multiple servers that should use the same configuration. For information, see *[Configuring Templates](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneInfrastructure/pages/149160274)*.

> - **Local Access**: Choose this to enable local access, so you can use the Device UI to make configuration changes or troubleshoot your server without disconnecting it from the Infoblox Platform. For information, see *[Managing Local Access for Servers](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneInfrastructure/pages/184582798)*.
> - **Maintenance**: Choose this to place the server into maintenance mode.
> - **View Usage Trends:** Choose this to view the server’s token utilization over time through graphical charts that display usage trends of **Objects**, **QPS**, and **LPS **metrics. When you select a time range, the usage trend chart displays these metrics for the selected period. Each metric is presented as percentage utilization of its configured capacity guardrails, with corresponding absolute values and guardrail values available in the tooltip. The chart also displays the server size at each point in time and reflects any size changes resulting from autoresize events.
>   - **Note**: Metric values for **QPS** and **LPS** are rounded up to the nearest integer. For example, a QPS value of **0.003** is displayed as **1**.
>   - **Time Range Selection: **Use the **View** drop-down menu to select the time range for which usage data is displayed. The usage trend chart supports the following options:
>     - **Last 7 Days**: Displays data for the previous seven days.
>     - **Last 30 Days**: Displays data for the previous thirty days.
>     - **Last 6 Months**: Displays data for the previous six months.
>     - **Last Year**: Displays data for the previous twelve months.
>     - **Custom Range**: Allows you to specify a custom date range. The available start date begins on **September 1, 2024**, and the maximum selectable range is **up to two years**.
>       - **Note**: Do not include the current date (as the start or end date), as usage data for the current day is not available.
>   - **Server Name: **The server name is displayed at the top of the chart and identifies the server for which usage data is presented.
>   - **Informational Message: **If the server size changes during the selected time range, a message is displayed above the chart indicating that server size varies within the selected interval.
>   - **X-axis (Time and Size): **The X-axis represents the time interval and the server size at each data point.
>     - The time interval displayed adjusts based on the selected range:
>       - **Last 7 Days / Last 30 Days**: Displays data by day (**MM/DD**).
>       - **Last 6 Months**: Displays data by week** (W1, W2)**.
>       - **Last Year**: Displays data by month (**MM/YY**).
>       - **Custom Range**: The time interval is automatically adjusted based on the selected range to ensure optimal readability.
>     - **Size: **The chart displays the server size (for example, **L**, **S**) for each data point (time slot), which may change over time due to autoresize events. Each data point represents a specific time unit (for example, **day, week, or month**, depending on the selected range).
>       - Changes in server size are **visually highlighted on the chart**, making it easier to identify when a resize event occurs.
>       - **Note**: For each data point, the server size corresponds to the **largest size observed within that time unit **(for example, day, week, or month), even if the server size changes multiple times during that period.
>         - In the following chart, the view is filtered for **Last 30 Days** and the server size is **L** from **May 8** to **May 27**. On **May 28**, the server size changes multiple times, and the **largest size for that day is S**, which is displayed on the chart. The server size remains **S** for the following days. As a result, each data point reflects the **maximum size for that specific time period**, rather than a single size applied across the entire selected time range.
>   - **Y-axis (Utilization Percentage): **The Y-axis represents percentage utilization of the configured capacity guardrails for each metric.
>     - The chart includes a horizontal **red line at 100%**, indicating the capacity threshold. The values **above 100%** indicate that usage exceeds the configured capacity.
>     - Each data point is calculated as:
>   - **Peak Values: **Below the chart, **Peak Objects**, **Peak QPS**, and **Peak LPS** display the highest actual values observed across the entire selected time range.
>     - **Note:** Peak values may not correspond to the highest point on the chart, which represents percentage utilization relative to the capacity guardrails of the applied size.
>       - For example**, **the following chart shows one data point with the highest point on the chart (**LPS: 155% (310 / 200) for size S**) and another data point with the highest actual value (**Peak LPS: 113% (758 / 675) for size XL**).
>       - Although **155% (310)** appears higher on the chart, **113% (758)** is the peak value because it represents the highest actual LPS within in the selected time range.
> - After selecting a time range, all metrics are displayed by default. Click a metric icon (**Objects**, **QPS**, or **LPS**) to hide its corresponding line on the chart. Click the icon again to restore the line. You can hide or restore multiple metrics to customize the chart view.
>   - **Data point: **When you hover over a data point on the chart, the tooltip displays the value along with percentage utilization relative to the configured capacity guardrails (for example, QPS: 54,670 (79% of 70,000)).
>     - **Overlapping data points**:  If multiple metrics share the same data point (for example, **Objects, QPS, and LPS** on the same date), the tooltip displays the details for all applicable metrics together in a single view.
> - **Download**: Click the icon to download the usage trend data for offline analysis.
> - **Refresh Status**: Choose this to refresh the server status.
> - **Remove**: Choose this to remove the server.
> - **Replace**: Choose this to replace this server with another server.
> - **Re Snapshot**: Choose this to create a new snapshot of the server configuration.
> - **Troubleshoot**: Click this and choose one of the following to troubleshoot your server: **Traceroute**, **DNS Test**, **Traffic Capture**, **NTP Test**, or **Restart server**.
> 
> ### Server Details Panel (Right Section)
> 
> The **Server Details Panel** appears on the right side of the page. This panel provides a complete view of the selected server’s information and current state. The details are organized into the following sections:
> 
> #### General Information
> 
> - **Server Name:** The name of the selected server.
> - **Status:** The current status of the server.
> - **Type**: The server type. This field can display one of the following: **NIOS-X Server**,** NIOS-X (BloxOne) Container**,** NIOS-X (BloxOne) VM**,** CNIOS**, **NIOS**, **NIOS HA**, and **Not Availabl**e. For example, if your server is a physical appliance, the server type is **NIOS-X (BloxOne) Physical Server**, bare-metal container is **NIOS-X (BloxOne) Container**, and OVA VM is **NIOS-X (BloxOne) Virtual Server**.
> - **Size: **The size of the server.
> - **Version**: The version of the agent that is currently running on the server.
> - **Serial Number**: The serial number of a physical appliance. For virtual appliances, this displays N/A, and you can look up the serial number through the VM console.
> - **OPHID**: The auto-generated unique ID for the server.
> - **Server IP Address**: The IP address of the server. The current release supports only IPv4 addresses.
> - **NAT IP Address**: The IP address of the NAT (Network Address Translation) for the server.
> - **Location Time/Time Zone**: The current time and time zone of the server at its location.
> - **Last Seen**:The timestamp of the last activity.
> - **Platform Management**: The status of the platform management. You can expand this section in the right panel and view the following information:
>   - **Status**: The current deployment status of your server. For new non-NIOS deployments, this field displays **Upgrading** as the status and the **Message** field displays the installation progress.
>   - **Error Message**: Infoblox Platform performs health checks on platform components and displays relevant messages for the current status. For details about the health check messages, see <u>*[Health Check Messages for Servers](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneInfrastructure/pages/184583875)*</u>. For new non-NIOS deployments, the following table describes the corresponding **Status** and **Message** for the current deployment.
>   - **Version**: The version of your server platform.
>   - **Status Changed**: The timestamp when the last status changed.
>

>   - **Error Message**: Infoblox Platform performs health checks on applications and displays relevant messages for the current status. > ## Map View
> 
> When you toggle to the **Map view**, the Infoblox Portal displays a world map that indicates the locations of your servers (using the red location icon), as illustrated below.

> Only servers with geolocations appear on the map. Servers without geolocations are listed in the left lower corner of the map. You can click a location icon to zoom into server locations within that region. You can even drill down to the street level to locate specific servers by clicking the location icon. 
> 
> Click the location icon for a specific server to view the following information:
> 
> - **Platform Management**: Displays the status and last updated time for platform management.
> - **Application Managemen**t: Displays the status and last update time for the application running on the server.
> - **General info**:
>   - **Server IP Address**: The IP address of the server. The current release supports only IPv4 addresses.
>   - **NAT IP Address**: The IP address of the NAT (Network Address Translation) for the server.
>   - **Local Time**: Current local time of the server.
>   - **Last Seen**: Timestamp of the last activity.
>   - **IP Space**: The IP space in which the server IP resides.
>   - **Serial Number: **The** **unique identifier of the server.
> - **Server Size Info**:
>   - **Size**: The size of the server.

> The number under a location icon indicates the number of deployed servers (both virtual and physical) within that specific location. For example, if a location icon has a number of 187, there are a total of 187 servers deployed at that location. You can click the icon to drill down to the next level to view more precise locations for the servers.

You can also do the following:

- Perform a local search to view servers based on your filtering criteria; and you can page through the results. Infoblox supports the following fields for local search on the **Servers** page: **Name**, **OPHID**, **Server IP Address**, and **Serial Number**.

> 📝 Local search for **Serial Number** is applicable only for **Appliance** and **CNIOS** server type.

- Click the **Sort by** drop-down menu to sort the list of servers by available fields, such as **Created**, **Server Name**, **Server State**, and **server Type**.
