<span style="color: #000000">The DHCP config profiles are applicable to the service instances they are assigned to. All the settings are inherited from the Global DHCP Configuration. However, at the DHCP config profile level, you can override the values inherited from the Global DHCP Configuration. </span>


<span style="color: #000000">To create a DHCP config profile:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">From the Infoblox Portal, click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Network > DHCP > DHCP Config Profiles > Create DHCP Config Profile**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">On the </span><span style="color: #000000">*Create DHCP Config Profile*</span><span style="color: #000000"> page, specify the following:</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Name**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Enter a name for the DHCP config profile.  </span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Description**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Enter additional information about the DHCP config profile.</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Tags**</span><span style="color: #000000">: </span><span style="color: #3e3f40">For information about tags, see </span><u><span style="color: #0000ff">*[Managing Tags](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/186745865)*</span></u><span style="color: #3e3f40">.</span>
  - <span style="color: #3e3f40">Configure the following:</span>
    - <span style="color: #000000">**Leases**</span><span style="color: #000000">: You can set parameters to control how the DHCP server responds to lease requests for clients and hardware. See </span><span style="color: #000000">*[Defining Lease Times](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/186778823)*</span><span style="color: #000000">. </span>
    - <span style="color: #000000">**DHCP Options**</span><span style="color: #000000">: DHCP options provide specific configuration and service information to DHCP clients. See </span><span style="color: #000000">*[Configuring DHCP Options](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/186714220)*</span><span style="color: #000000">. </span>
    - <span style="color: #000000">**DDNS**</span><span style="color: #000000">: DDNS updates go to Universal DDI managed zones or zones hosted by an external DNS server. For example, you can configure NIOS as the external primary server. See </span><span style="color: #000000">*[Enabling DDNS for IPv4 Clients](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/186714183)*</span><span style="color: #000000">. </span>
    - <span style="color: #000000">**Filters**</span><span style="color: #000000">: To control how Universal DDI allocates IPv4 addresses, you can define DHCP filters and apply them to the DHCP config profile.     - <span style="color: #003300">**Advanced Settings**</span><span style="color: #003300">: Configure advanced settings like Abandoned Reclaim Time. See </span><span style="color: #003300">*[Advanced Configuration](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/220104221)*</span><span style="color: #003300">.</span>
    - <span style="color: #003300">Local Logging: Configure a local syslog server to store logs from Infoblox Portal. See </span><span style="color: #003300">*[Local Logging (DHCP)](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/1215168564)*</span><span style="color: #003300">. </span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Save & Close**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to save the details or click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Cancel**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to exit.</span>

> ⚠️ When you create a DHCP Config Profile, you can view the leases, DHCP options, DDNS details, and filters that are inherited from the Global DHCP Configuration. You can also override these values.
