<span style="color: #000000">To configure High Availability for DHCP, complete the following:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">**Create an HA Group**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Create an HA group and add two existing NIOS-X Servers to the group. This creates an HA pair. For information on creating an HA Group, see </span><u><span style="color: #000000">*[Configuring HA Groups](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/186466781)*</span></u><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">**Create an IP Space**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Go to </span><span style="color: #000000">**Network **</span><span style="color: #000000">></span><span style="color: #000000">** DHCP **</span><span style="color: #000000">></span><span style="color: #000000">** Address Spaces**</span><span style="color: #000000">. Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Create **</span><span style="color: #000000">></span><span style="color: #000000">** IP Space**</span><span style="color: #000000">. Configure the settings and click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Save and Close**</span><span style="color: #000000">. For information on creating an address space, see </span><u><span style="color: #000000">*[Configuring IP Spaces](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/186369710)*</span></u><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">**Create a Subnet and Assign the HA Group to the Subnet**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Go to </span><span style="color: #000000">**Network > DHCP > Address Spaces**</span><span style="color: #000000">. Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Create **</span><span style="color: #000000">></span><span style="color: #000000">** Subnet**</span><span style="color: #000000">. Select the newly created IP Space for </span><span style="color: #000000">**IP Space **</span><span style="color: #000000">and the HA Group for NIOS-X Server. Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Save and Close**</span><span style="color: #000000">. <span style="color: #000000">The HA with two NIOS-X Servers is now complete. </span>

> ⚠️ **Note**
> ⚠️ 
> ⚠️ - <span style="color: #000000">You must select different NIOS-X Servers for an HA group. </span>
> ⚠️ - <span style="color: #000000">A NIOS-X Server must use only one IP space.</span>
> ⚠️ - <span style="color: #000000">A NIOS-X Server associated with an HA group cannot be associated with another in Active/Active and Active/Passive mode.</span>
> ⚠️ - <span style="color: #000000">A NIOS-X Server can be associated with multiple HA groups in Advanced Active/Passive mode.</span>
> ⚠️ - <span style="color: #000000">A NIOS-X Server that is part of an Active/Active or Active/Passive HA group cannot have subnets and ranges of its own. The NIOS-X Server cannot have subnets or ranges that are not associated with the HA group. A NIOS-X Server that is part of an Advanced Active Passive HA group is allowed to have subnets and ranges of its own.</span>
> ⚠️ - <span style="color: #000000">The NIOS-X Servers (Node 1 and 2) must be able to communicate with each other on the specified ports. Any firewall settings must allow traffic on the specified ports. </span>
> ⚠️ - <span style="color: #333300">All ranges within a given subnet must be assigned to the same NIOS-X Server or HA group as the parent subnet.</span>
