A subnet is a parent network for address ranges and fixed addresses with which it is associated. You must assign an IP space when you configure an IPv4 subnet. A subnet inherits the address properties of the parent network. The exceptions are the default router and broadcast address configuration. Once you create a subnet, you can make copies of it. For more information, see *[Copying Subnets](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneDDI/pages/186747048)*. To view the list of subnets, complete the following: 1. From the Infoblox Portal, click **Configure > Networking > IPAM > Address Spaces. ** 2. Click **IP Space **> **Address Block**. It displays the list of subnets that are associated with it. 3. The application displays the following information: - **ADDRESS**: The IP address and netmask of the subnet. - **NAME**: The name of the subnet. - **DESCRIPTION**: Additional information about the subnet. - **UTILIZATION**: The percentage of the total IPv4 DHCP utilization of the subnet. - **Red**: The DHCP resources are 76%-100% utilized. - **Orange**: The utilization percentage is between 51%-75%. - **Green**: The utilization percentage is between 0%-50%. You can also use the **IPAM View** slider at the top of the navigation bar to toggle between the IPAM view and the DHCP view to view different information about the subnet. To view DHCP information about the subnet, complete the following: 1. From the Infoblox Portal, click **Configure > Networking > IPAM > Address Spaces**. 2. Click **IP Space **> **Address Block** > corresponding **Subnet**. It displays the list of address ranges that are associated with it.** ** 3. Use the** IPAM View** slider to toggle to the **DHCP View**. The application displays the following information: > Macro (legacy-content) To view the lease usage and state of the address range in the visualization view, click the **Visualization** icon at the top navigation bar. The Infoblox Portal displays the following information about the subnet: - **Select/Deselect All**: Click this check box to select all the following options or deselect all the options. - **Abandoned**: These are IP addresses that Universal DDI cannot lease to any devices, because a response is received when pinging the address. - **DNS**: These are IP addresses configured for DNS use. - **Active Lease**: These are IP addresses that are currently in use by a DHCP client. - **Conflict (red)**: These are IP addresses that have either a MAC address conflict or a DHCP lease conflict detected through a network discovery. - **Fixed Address (yellow)**: These are fixed addresses. - **Exclusion Range**: This is a range of IP addresses that Universal DDI does not use to assign to clients. You can use these exclusion addresses as static IP addresses. - **DHCP Range**: The IP addresses within a DHCP range in the network. - **IPAM Range**: The IP addresses within an IPAM range in the network. - **Network/Broadcast (grey)**: These are the network or broadcast addresses. - **Used (blue)**: These addresses are currently in use. > ❌ To populate the Discovered Data fields, you must first configure Universal Asset Insights. The Discovered Data fields will only be displayed if the Discovery Service is running. The Discovered data fields cannot be edited manually or through CSV import. You can also perform the following in this tab: - Click the menu button, > Macro (inline-media-image) , to reorder the columns. - Click the menu button, > Macro (inline-media-image) , then **Edit** or select the check box for the respective record and click the **Edit** button to modify a subnet. - Select a subnet to view additional details. You can view the details like tags, leases, DHCP options, and filters. If you do not want to view the details in the right panel, click the information button, > Macro (inline-media-image) . - Click the utilization details button, > Macro (inline-media-image) , to view the subnet utilization details or click the tabular view button, > Macro (inline-media-image) , to view the details in a tabular format. - Enter the value that you want to search in the **Search** text box. Universal DDI displays the list of items matching the keyword in the database. You can search by **Name**, **Description**, **Tags **(Tag key and/OR Tag value)**, Address/CIDR, Discovered Attributes, **and** Discovered Metadata **(except **First Discovered** and **Last Discovered** fields which are date/time formats). You cannot search by **IPv4 Utilization,** or **First Discovered** and **Last Discovered** fields. - Click the filter button, > Macro (inline-media-image) , to filter the objects by **name** and **description**. To save a filter after selecting the required parameters click **Save Filter**, specify a name for the filter, and click **Save**. To reload a previously saved filter, click the saved filters button, > Macro (inline-media-image) , and select the required filter. - Click the menu button, > Macro (inline-media-image) , then **Move to Recycle Bin** to move the object to the recycle bin. You can restore the object later or delete it permanently as required.
