<span style="color: #000000">When a client queries a DNS server, the responses are cached in the DNS server until they expire. Subsequent queries receive a response from the cache. If the cache is outdated, it is useful to clear the cache so the old data can be removed. This results in more accurate responses. You can clear DNS cache without having to restart the NIOS-X Server or the DNS service.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To clear DNS cache from the Infoblox Portal, complete the following:</span>

1. From the Infoblox Portal, click **Network** > <span style="color: #000000">**DNS **</span>><span style="color: #000000">** DNS Servers**</span>.
2. <span style="color: #000000">Click  and select </span><span style="color: #000000">**Troubleshoot **</span><span style="color: #000000">> </span><span style="color: #000000">**Clear DNS Cache **</span><span style="color: #000000">for a single DNS server. </span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Confirm**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">The DNS cache is cleared.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To clear DNS cache from the service instance, complete the following:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">From the Infoblox Portal, click </span>**Network > Services & Servers > Protocol Service**<span style="color: #000000">**.**</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">Select a service instance. </span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">Select</span><span style="color: #000000">** Service **</span><span style="color: #000000">></span><span style="color: #000000">** DNS **</span><span style="color: #000000">> </span><span style="color: #000000">**Clear DNS Cache**</span><span style="color: #000000">. </span>
4. <span style="color: #000000">Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Confirm**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">The DNS cache is cleared.</span>
