<span style="color: #000000">A fixed address represents a persistent link between an IP address and one of the following:</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">MAC address</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">Client identifier</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">Circuit ID or remote ID in the DHCP relay agent option (82)</span>

<span style="color: #000000">You can configure fixed addresses for network devices, such as routers and email servers, that are not frequently moved from network to network. You can enter a specific IP address to assign to a device within a DHCP range or a subnet, or you can get the next available IP address that is free. By creating fixed addresses for network devices, clients can reliably reach them by their domain names. Some network devices, such as web or FTP servers, can benefit from having fixed addresses for this reason.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">A fixed address reserves an address for a specific client. The application displays an error message if the same address appears twice in the same IP space.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To view the list of fixed addresses, complete the following:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">From the Infoblox Portal, click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Network > IPAM > Address Spaces**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**IP Space **</span><span style="color: #000000">> </span><span style="color: #000000">**Address Block**</span><span style="color: #000000"> > corresponding </span><span style="color: #000000">**Subnet**</span><span style="color: #000000">. It displays the list of fixed addresses associated with it.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">The application displays the following information:</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">**ADDRESS/NAME**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The IP address within the subnet.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**DESCRIPTION**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Additional information about the fixed address.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**UTILIZATION**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The percentage of used IP addresses in the respective subnet range.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**USAGE**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The type of object for which this address is being configured. Identify the addresses that have </span><span style="color: #000000">**FIXED ADDRESS**</span><span style="color: #000000"> displayed in this field.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">You can click </span><span style="color: #000000">**IPAM View**</span><span style="color: #000000"> under the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Search**</span><span style="color: #000000"> field to toggle to the </span><span style="color: #000000">**DHCP View**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to view all the fixed addresses and leased addresses. The DHCP view displays the following information:</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">**ADDRESS**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The IP address of the fixed address.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**NAME**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The fixed address name.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**MAC ADDRESS**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The MAC address for this IP.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**CLIENT ID**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The DHCP client ID defined in the "client identifier" option that was passed to the DHCP server.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**TYPE**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The type of fixed address.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**USAGE**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Displays </span><span style="color: #000000">**FIXED ADDRESS**</span><span style="color: #000000">. This field is hidden by default.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**LEASE END**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The timestamp when the lease ends.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**LEASE RENEWAL**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The time remaining for the lease to be renewed.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">Click the column selector to reorder the columns or to select the columns to be displayed. Note that you cannot hide </span><span style="color: #000000">**ADDRESS**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To get more details about the fixed address, you can click the address name to view the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Relate Object **</span><span style="color: #000000">page. This page displays the following objects:</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">**NAME: **</span><span style="color: #000000">The fixed IP address name.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**TYPE**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The object type can be </span><span style="color: #000000">**IPv4 Fixed Address**</span><span style="color: #000000"> or </span><span style="color: #000000">**Multi-home NIOS-X Server**</span><span style="color: #000000">, for example. </span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**NIOS-X Server name**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The name(s) of the device(s) the IP address is associated with.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**MAC ADDRESS:**</span><span style="color: #000000"> The MAC Address associated with the respective IP address.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**CLIENT ID**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The unique identifier of the NIOS-X Server.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**LEASE STARTED**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The day, date, and time when the lease starts.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**LEASE REMAINING**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds that remains for the lease. </span>

<span style="color: #000000">You can also perform the following on this page: </span>

- <span style="color: #000000">Click the filter button, </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000">, to filter the objects by </span><span style="color: #000000">**Users**</span><span style="color: #000000">, </span><span style="color: #000000">**Free**</span><span style="color: #000000">, </span><span style="color: #000000">**Address/Name**</span><span style="color: #000000">, or </span><span style="color: #000000">**IP Space**</span><span style="color: #000000">. To save a filter after selecting the required parameters click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Save Filter**</span><span style="color: #000000">, specify a name for the filter, and click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Save**</span><span style="color: #000000">. To reload a previously saved filter, click the saved filters button,</span><span style="color: #e8e6e3"> </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000">, and select the required filter. </span>
- <span style="color: #000000">Click the utilization details button, </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000">, to view the utilization details or click the tabular view button, </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000">, to view the details in a tabular format.</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">On the right-hand side or at the bottom (depending on your screen width) of the page, a panel displays more details about the selected address. The details include: </span><span style="color: #000000">**Type**</span><span style="color: #000000">, </span><span style="color: #000000">**Usage**</span><span style="color: #000000">, </span><span style="color: #000000">**Names**</span><span style="color: #000000">, </span><span style="color: #000000">**Multi-home**</span><span style="color: #000000">, and </span><span style="color: #000000">**Fixed Address**</span><span style="color: #000000">. If you do not want to view the details in the panel, click the information button, </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

- <span style="color: #003300">Enter the value that you want to search in the </span><span style="color: #003300">**Search**</span><span style="color: #003300"> text box. Universal DDI displays the list of items matching the keyword in the database. You can search by </span><span style="color: #003300">**Name**</span><span style="color: #003300">, </span><span style="color: #003300">**Description**</span><span style="color: #003300">, </span><span style="color: #003300">**Tags **</span><span style="color: #003300">(Tag key OR/AND Tag value)</span><span style="color: #003300">**, Address, MAC Address, Client ID/DUID, Type and DHCP Fingerprints**</span><span style="color: #003300">. You can not search by lease start and lease remaining fields.</span>
- <span style="color: #003300">The No Entry icon,</span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #003300">, shows that the object is disabled for DHCP protocol. </span>
