<span style="color: #000000">You can create multiple service API keys that associate with respective service API keys for specific purposes. You must have the required permission to create service API keys. > 📝 If you plan to use access views, note that service users cannot log in to access views using API keys. For information, see *[Access View Behavior for Interactive and Service Users](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneCloud/pages/1514307738)*.

<span style="color: #000000">You will receive service API key notifications only if you belong to a user group that has subscribed to account alerts. Fourteen (14) days prior to expiration of your service API key, Infoblox Platform will notify you in-app and via email on a daily basis. You can create a new API key to replace the old key to avoid interruptions with associated operations. You can view these notifications in the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Notifications**</span><span style="color: #000000"> page of Infoblox Portal. Once a service API key expires, its </span><span style="color: #000000">**STATE**</span><span style="color: #000000"> changes to </span><span style="color: #000000">**Expired**</span><span style="color: #000000">, and you cannot enable or disable it anymore.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To create a service API key, complete the following:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">From the Infoblox Portal, click </span>**System** > **Administration** <span style="color: #000000">></span><span style="color: #000000">** User Access**</span><span style="color: #000000"> > </span><span style="color: #000000">**Service API Keys**</span><span style="color: #000000"> from the left navigation bar.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">On the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Service API Keys**</span><span style="color: #000000"> page, click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Create**</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">In the </span><span style="color: #000000">***Create Service API Keys***</span><span style="color: #000000"> dialog, complete the following:</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Name**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Enter the name of the user API key. Use a name that can identify the purpose of the key.</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Service User**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Enter the name of the service users or choose one from the drop-down list. You can associated up to 10 service API keys per service user.</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Expires at**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Click the calendar icon to select a date and time when the service API key should expire. This date determines the duration of key validity.</span>
  - **Access View**: From the drop-down menu, select the access view to which you want to assign the service API key. You can use the search function to quickly locate a specific access view. 4. <span style="color: #000000">Click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Save & Close**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to save the configuration. The new service API key is generated.</span>
5. <span style="color: #000000">In the </span><span style="color: #000000">**API Access Key Generated**</span><span style="color: #000000"> dialog, click</span><span style="color: #000000">** Copy**</span><span style="color: #000000"> to copy the key and save it in a place where you can locate the key in the future.</span>

> ⚠️ The service API key you created appears only once in the dialog box. When you close the dialog, you will not be able to retrieve the key. Ensure that you copy it and save it on your system for future use.
