IPAM metadata can be configured on only one Data Connector per NIOS Grid. If any traffic flow has either DNS or RPZ configured as a NIOS source on a Data Connector server, then IPAM metadata must be enabled on the same server. IPAM metadata cannot be enabled on multiple traffic flows or Data Connector servers.<span style="color: #000000"> </span><span style="color: #1d1c1d">When configuring IPAM sync from NIOS via the data connector to Infoblox Platform, Infoblox recommends enabling Object Change Tracking in the NIOS grid when configuring IPAM metadata. </span>

To receive data from NIOS as DNS Query/Response logs or RPZ logs, or to receive IPAM metadata, you must have an RO user permission.

All non-administrative users who want to send or receive basic NIOS information, responses, and RPZ logging must have read-only permissions. To enable permissions, do the following:

1. Select **Global Permission** for the non-admin group.
2. Under **Permission Type**, select **DNS Permissions**.
3. Select **Grid DNS Properties**, and click the **Read/Write** button to save the settings.
