The Infoblox Platform keeps you informed about critical events through notifications. You can access these notifications via the icons located at the top-right corner of the Infoblox Portal, next to the Global Search icon.

The platform provides three notification icons. One displays the total number of notifications received within the past three days, including security and network notifications. If the count exceeds 99 notifications, it will be shown as **99+**. The other two icons are specific to security and network notifications. By clicking on any of the three notification icons, you can easily access the most recent notifications.

Note the following about your notifications:

- Notifications and alerts are archived after they have been in the **DISMISSED** state for at least 12 hours. Alerts become **DISMISSED** when you select the alerts and click **Clear **in the **Notifications** pane. The **DISMISSED** alerts will become visible again when the user clicks **View all notifications **until such time they are archived. When notifications and alerts are archived, they will no longer be visible or accessible.
- Each notification has a priority that indicates the severity of the event. You can filter the notifications by priority to view all notifications at the specified severity level.
- You can opt-out of specific notifications by updating your *[User Preferences](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneCloud/pages/35367467)* and selecting the notifications you want to receive. Individual settings do not affect the global or admin settings for other users.

# Viewing Notifications

From the Infoblox Portal, click any one of the three notification icons, depending on the type of notification you want to view. A red dot located over the security and network icons indicates there are notifications available for viewing.

# Configuring Notification Settings

Depending on your permissions, you may perform notification related settings when you navigate to the following tabs in the **Notifications** panel:

- **Delivery Settings** tab**: **Configure the delivery mechanisms for personal notifications. Administrators can configure notifications to be delivered through emails and/or in-app banners. Infoblox administrators can configure global notification settings for all users and user groups. For information on how to configure global or admin delivery settings, see *[Configuring Notification Delivery](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneCloud/pages/35398691)*. You can override the default delivery methods and set up thresholds for certain service notifications. Infoblox implements deduplication for notifications to prevent notification floods, which identifies identical notifications and sets a grace period to stop duplicate notifications before sending them again.
- **Service Integrations** tab: Integrate other services to receive notifications. You can configure other services, such as PagerDuty or custom webhook, for your notifications. For more information about service integrations, see *[Configuring Service Integrations](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneCloud/pages/35430462)*.For information on how to choose notifications you want to receive, see *[Configuring Notification Subscriptions](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneCloud/pages/35397924)*.
