<span style="color: #000000">Anycast configuration incorporates the following common parameters shared by all hosts in support of a particular service.</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">An anycast configuration can incorporate multiple hosts while a host may be a member of multiple anycast configurations.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">All hosts in an anycast configuration must belong to the same tenant that owns the anycast configuration.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">All anycast addresses configured for a particular host will be advertised to the same set of upstream routers.</span>

> 📝 All Universal DDI users have access to Anycast if they have entitlement for management tokens and server tokens. Users with Infoblox DDIv3 licensing must have the Advanced Tier to use Anycast.

<span style="color: #000000">You can associate an anycast address with multiple hosts that are serving the same Infoblox Platform. Note that each anycast address must be unique for a specific protocol. For example, if you have the Infoblox Threat Defense Advanced license entitlement, you can create an anycast address and associate it with multiple hosts that have DNS forwarding proxy service enabled and running on them. Similarly, if you have the Universal DDI Advanced entitlement, you can associate one anycast address with multiple hosts that are serving DNS.</span>

<span style="color: #000000">To set up anycast addressing, do the following:</span>

1. <span style="color: #000000">Create an anycast configuration, as described in </span><span style="color: #000000">*[Creating Anycast Configuration](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneCloud/pages/35464240)*</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
2. <span style="color: #000000">Create an anycast service instance, as described in </span><span style="color: #000000">*[Creating Anycast Services](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneInfrastructure/pages/149815516)*</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>
3. <span style="color: #000000">For Anycast 2.0, configure the desired anycast protocol as described in </span><span style="color: #000000">*[Configuring Routing](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/nios90/pages/280758814)*</span><span style="color: #000000">.</span>

> ⚠️ Due to an anycast limitation, there is no option to provide routing ID in the routing configuration. You will not be able to configure anycast advertising on a VLAN interface or multiple interfaces. Anycast will choose the WAN interface by default. <span style="color: #000000">The </span>**Network** > <span style="color: #000000">**Anycast**</span><span style="color: #000000"> page displays the following information about the Anycast configurations currently in your system.</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">**NAME**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The anycast configuration’s name.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**STATE**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The current state of the anycast configuration. This can be one of the following:</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Active**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The anycast service is enabled and running properly on all configured hosts.</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Inactive**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The state is </span><span style="color: #000000">**Inactive**</span><span style="color: #000000"> if any of the following happens:</span>
    - <span style="color: #000000">The anycast service is disabled.</span>
    - <span style="color: #000000">The anycast service is enabled, but no anycast service is running on the configured hosts.</span>
  - <span style="color: #000000">**Degraded**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The anycast service is not running properly on one or more of the configured hosts.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**ANYCAST IPv4 ADDRESS**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The IPv4 address used by the anycast configuration.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**DESCRIPTION**</span><span style="color: #000000">: Description of the name of the host.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">**PROTOCOL**</span><span style="color: #000000">: The </span><span style="color: #001d35">network addressing technique being enforced. </span>

<span style="color: #000000">You can view more information about a selected anycast configuration in the right panel. When you expand </span><span style="color: #000000">**Anycast Services**</span><span style="color: #000000"> in the panel, you can see the current state of the anycast service for each configured  host.   </span>

<span style="color: #000000">You can also perform the following in this tab:</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">Click </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000"> to reorder the columns or to select the columns to be displayed.</span>

- <span style="color: #000000">Click  </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000"> -> </span><span style="color: #000000">**Edit**</span><span style="color: #000000"> or select the check box for the respective record and click the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Edit**</span><span style="color: #000000"> button to modify an anycast address.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">Click </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000"> -> </span><span style="color: #000000">**Delete**</span><span style="color: #000000"> or select the respective anycast address and click the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Delete**</span><span style="color: #000000"> button to delete the anycast address.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">Select an anycast address to view information such as Anycast IP address, name, protocol and filters. If you do not want to view the details in the right panel, click the information button.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">Enter the value that you want to search in the </span><span style="color: #000000">**Search**</span><span style="color: #000000"> text box. Universal DDI displays the list of records matching the keyword in the text box.</span>
- <span style="color: #000000">Click the filter icon to filter the objects by </span><span style="color: #000000">**name**</span><span style="color: #000000">, </span><span style="color: #000000">**type**</span><span style="color: #000000">, and </span><span style="color: #000000">**description**</span><span style="color: #000000">. To save a filter after selecting the required parameters click </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000">, specify a name for the filter, and click </span><span style="color: #000000">**Save & Close**</span><span style="color: #000000">. To reload a previously saved filter, click </span>> Macro (inline-media-image)

<span style="color: #000000"> and select the required filter. </span>
