You can override the global NTP settings when you create a new NTP service instance or edit an exiting one.

For information about how to set up global NTP settings, see [*Configuring Global NTP Settings*](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BloxOneCloud/pages/35430314).

> ⚠️ - The NTP service supports only IPv4 networks.
> ⚠️ - The NTP service is not supported on the following deployment types of hosts: NIOS/CNIOS and bare-metal.

To override global NTP settings on a service instance:

1. On the Cloud Services Portal, click **Manage **> **Infrastructure** > **Services**.
2. See the following topic and following the instructions if you are creating a new NTP service:
  - [*Configuring External NTP Servers*](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/InfrastructureDRAFT/pages/115442213)
3. See the following if you are editing an exiting NTP service:
  1. Choose an NTP service instance on which you want to override the global NTP setting.
  2. Follow the instructions in [*Configuring External NTP Servers*](https://infoblox-docs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/InfrastructureDRAFT/pages/115442213).

> ⚠️ In the **External NTP Servers** step of the wizard, use the **Override** switch to enable override. Global NTP settings are inherited by default.
