BloxOne notifications support other services such as PagerDuty, or a web service that can be configured to accept data in a fixed, predefined format. For more information on configuring a web service, see Configuring a Custom Webhook.

To configure service integrations for notifications, complete the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services Portal, click Manage -> Notifications -> Service Integrations tab.
  2. On the Service Integrations page, click Add Service Integrations and complete the following:
    • Type: From the drop-down menu, select Custom or PagerDuty. Select Custom to set up a webhook integration.
    • For Custom, complete the following:
      • Name: Enter the name of the integration. This name shows up in the Notification Settings page.
      • URL: Enter the URL for the webhook service.
      • Authentication: From the drop-down menu, select the authentication method for this integration, as follows:
        • None: No authentication for this integration.
        • Basic: Enter the username and password for authentication.
        • Token: Enter the access token to be used for authentication.
    • For PagerDuty, complete the following:
      • Name: Enter the name for this pager duty service. This name shows up in the Notification Settings page.
      • PagerDuty URL: This field displays the default PagerDuty URL. You most likely do not need to change this URL.
      • PagerDuty ID: This is a PagerDuty integration ID (also known as the routing key) that you set up on the PagerDuty side.
  3. Click Save & Close.

Note

After you have added or configured new services, they will appear under the Application Notifications section of the Notification Settings page. Ensure that you select the new services if you want to send notifications to these services.

Configuring a Custom Webhook

When you configure a custom webhook, a fixed payload is sent. Here is an example of a payload:

{
        "id": "6a705837-afd5-4bd6-a2db-699466e10bed",
        "type": "SYSTEM",
        "subtype": "host_disk_usage",
        "severity": "low",
        "account_id": "1234567",
        "application_id": "default",
        "occurred_time": "2020-05-18T02:52:08Z",
        "generated_time": "2020-05-18T03:08:40Z",
        "short_subject": "Host Disk Usage Limit Exceeded",
        "message": "Host OnPremHost-12345 has root file system usage of 91.9%",
        "url": "https://csp.infoblox.com/atlas/app/tab/common/manage/notifications/all-notifications",
        "preferences_url": "https://csp.infoblox.com/atlas/app/welcome?user-preferences=true",
        "custom_message": "Email Custom Message",
    }

BloxOne supports configuring some settings for notifications to be sent by email. Currently, the only setting that is supported is Custom Message. If defined, the custom message will be included in all email notifications as well as the payload of custom webhook.

To configure service integrations for notifications, complete the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services Portal, click Manage -> Notifications -> Service Integrations tab.
  2. On the Service Integrations page, go to Email Settings and configure the following:
    • Custom Message: Enter text in the provided text box and click Save & Close. For example, you can specify Message of the Day.
